GABS 2018 – Rewind

Another year another GABS Festival in the bag, well half of it in the bag anyway. Melbourne GABS and the AIBA seemed to be a roaring success for all involved, especially based on the sore heads Friday morning. Dan and our brewing team had another spectacular result with the All-Star Session IPA winning another gold (6 in the last 12 months.) As well as 6 other silver and bronze medals.

Our stand was manned by our brewing team over the weekend and we had a steady stream of enthusiasts chasing down our collaboration beers with Beer Cartel and Bucket Boys Revenge of the Pith and If you Like Pina Colada. With most of the independent breweries located upstairs this year we all enjoyed the opportunity to try each other’s beers.

It’s the way it Shatters that Matters the organic honey and cocoa nib brown ale and our festival beer had a good response across the weekend. Feedback on most of the festival beers was positive but it was hard to tell if any one brewer stuck out too far over the rest of the 180 festival beers.

Trade customers came as far away as from Sydney, Brisbane and Perth with the WA contingent being particularly large. Nail Brewing’s entire team were parked at our stand for a large proportion of the Friday night session.

With Sydney GABS just around the corner we all take a deep breath. It feels like we are in the eye of the storm and it is hard to imagine we can pack so much fun into just two sessions. However, rest assured we will certainly try. We have kept aside a keg of the Pina Colada and Revenge of the Pith and our brewers will be manning our stand for both sessions. Hope to see you for a beer.
