Emma started with us a little over 2 years ago and the Australian Hotel & Brewery has never been the same. She is the friendly smile that greets you, the cheerful voice on the other end of the phone and the helpful reply back to every message and request.
Emma has been running our front of house team for the last few months and has enjoyed making it her own. These last School Holidays Emma stepped up and brought her invaluable parenting experience to the team creating new activities and fun experiences for local kids. For this reason she has recently stepped into the role of Customer service and standards manager. Read our interview with Emma below:
Describe your perfect night off: Thats a tough one….the devoted mum in me wants to say a nice quiet night on the couch with my babies watching movies and snuggling but the closet party animal in me wants to say cocktails, laughs and dancing with the girls. Ok Lets settle for dinner out with the girls…and the kids…and the cocktails - minus the dancing!
What is your favourite thing about being a mum? I would have to say the single best thing about being a mum is loving and being loved in return. The kind of love that is unconditional. Its enjoying the triumphs and living and learning from the trials & tribulations! Its the hugs, the kisses, the tears and laughter. Its knowing that I am their ‘person’ and they are mine.
What is something fun or quirky about Emma: A little known fact that not many would know is that I am actually a very comical person. I have a very good sense of humour and when I laugh hard, I slap my knee.
How long have you been in Hospitality? Ive been in and out a number of times with a combined experience of 8 years.
How long have you lived in the area? All my life I have lived in and around the hills.
What kind of music do you like? I like anything that I can sing and dance to.
Whats your favourite food? I love a good Indian Curry. My favourite would be a Lamb Rogan Josh
If you could describe yourself with one word whats would it be? Empathetic - I think thats why I excel in this role because I genuinely care about our customers and the experience they have with us in venue.
What are you most proud of? I would have to say my resilience and confidence - which has definitely come with age! I am an extremely proud (busy) mum of the 3 most beautiful and well grounded children whilst also managing a home and a full time job. I feel my ability to be able to fill so many roles to the standard I do is largely due to the flexibility and understanding provided to me by the Brewery.
You can meet Emma at our Host station on a Friday & Saturday night, running Trivia on a Wednesday night and managing the Bistro throughout the week.
